LGBTQ+ Council
The LGBTQ+ Council is dedicated to uplifting, supporting, and fostering a greater sense of community amongst all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer faculty/staff members of the University of Iowa, as well as those in our greater Iowa City community.
Who We Are
The University of Iowa LGBTQ+ Council was organized in 1990 to support the interests of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer campus community. All are welcome, regardless of identity or experience.
Meetings are held monthly and feature guest presentations as well as discussions of current topics recommended by members. In addition, the Council sponsors other public activities throughout the year ranging from lectures to cultural performances and social events.
